Pálava

The ship Pálava, originally named AGNES, was built in 1953.

The ship is originally a Hamburg-type Barkasse; it served as an official customs service vessel in large ports, specifically in Hamburg for the customs administration, and was later converted into a passenger ship. Břeclav Shipping spotted the boat in January 2008 right in the port of Hamburg.

At the end of May, the Pálava (still under the name Agnes) arrived at ALBA-METAL, spol. s r.o. for a complete reconstruction. This was achieved in record time—within a month (June 26, 2008), the ship was already sailing on the Nové Mlýny reservoirs. The Pálava weighs approximately 25 tons, features an upper deck, and is a very sturdy vessel capable of withstanding the larger waves that can appear on the lower reservoir during windy weather. The Pálava has a draft of nearly 1.4 meters. The ship is made of steel and is 18 meters long.

In the summer of 2009, the Pálava appeared in Richard Krajčo’s music video ‘Cyráno’ for the film Bobule 2. In March 2018, it was purchased by Jihočeská plavební, and the ship will once again serve as a passenger excursion boat. The vessel is intended for transporting visitors primarily in the Vltavotýnsko region.

During the summer holidays, it will sail between Týn nad Vltavou and the Mitrowicz Castle in Koloděje nad Lužnicí, and once a week from Týn nad Vltavou to Hluboká nad Vltavou and back.
